How soon should you send Save-The-Dates and Invitations? Typically if your wedding will be out of town for most guests or is a destination wedding, send save-the-dates out as soon as possible so guests have plenty of time to save or prepare/plan for travel costs and arrangements. Traditionally, invitations are mailed out 12 weeks before wedding date. 💌📬

11. The cape veil- usually cathedral length but attaches around heck or shoulders instead of in hair.

Tips for calculating cake amount:
6-inch round – 12 servings
8-inch round – 24 servings
10-inch round – 38 servings
12-inch round – 56 servings
14-inch round – 78 servings
Typically counted one slice per guest, but if you also have a grooms cake, dessert bar, cupcakes or even chocolate fountain, cake size can be reduced.
If you’re planning to follow the tradition of freezing the top tier to enjoy on your first anniversary, make sure your baker excludes that tier from the serving count. It should be boxed and preserved separately. Some prides opt for alternatives such as doughnuts, fruit pie or even mini chocolate bars!

Items to discuss with your caterer:
*Cocktail hour appetizers
*Reception dinner menu
*Allergen restrictions or accommodations
*Final headcount
*Servers (does caterer provide servers or do you need to find some? Self-serve buffet?
*Dinnerware (does venue provide dinnerware? Caterer? Or do you need to provide?)
*Food clean up (does venue provide? Caterer? Or do you provide?)
*Leftovers (if there is any extra food leftover, does Carter take it home? Will they box it up and leave it for you?)

Honeymoon 😘✈️🌎
*Plan as far in advance as possible to avoid any additional financial dress in addition to your wedding.
*Timing- you don’t have to leave the morning after your wedding; you can leave a few days after wedding to avoid stress or extreme exhaustion. Consider having your honeymoon in an off season for cheaper rates.
*When booking ask for “honeymoon packages”, this may get you a better rate, free upgrades, or even some special amenities.
*Discuss with your spouse if you’d like an adventure filled trip or a relaxing trip.

Getting the spring itch? We are too! We’re ready for bright color, warm weather, long days, and evenings on the patio. Speaking of patio, did you know 76% of cocktail hours at weddings are on a patio?

Buurrrrrrr! ⛄️🎿Warm winter gloves and scarves inspiring you to plan a summer tropical wedding? 🌴🍹🌺through different seasons it’s still a great idea to have a plan B for inclement weather. A tent for that 10% of rain? An indoor emergency plan for extreme wind on wedding day; no matter the weather you’re hoping for, it’s still a great idea to consider your options. 👍🏼You’ve got this!

Let’s talk centerpieces- tall and elaborate centerpieces are beautiful, but often are a major view block for guests and can also block Photographer and videographers from capturing shots of guests and or bride and groom. Consider tall enough to see under or short enough to see over. If you have leftover floral decorations or centerpieces after your wedding, consider donating them to a nursing home or hospital. Your special day can make someone else’s day special too!

💦hydrate and have a good breakfast. Wedding morning may look much slower than your beautiful brides who’s morning is jam packed with hair and makeup, but don’t forget to fuel up and stay hydrated. ⌚️have your details ready for photographer- set aside your shoes, coat, tie, watch, cologne, etc for your photographer to photograph details. 👔know how to tie your tie or bow tie ahead of time.
